Appeals process

Appellants have 20 working days from the date we notified you of the decision you are appealing, in which to lodge an appeal against that decision. To make an appeal click here.

Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs)

Individuals have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether the IMI processes their personal data and, where applicable, to request access to that information in accordance with Article 15 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

To assist individuals in providing sufficient information to enable us to identify and locate the personal data requested, we recommend using the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) Data Subject Access Request form, available on the ICO website.

The use of the ICO form is entirely optional. The IMI will accept Data Subject Access Requests submitted by any method, including email, post, telephone, or other written communication. Requests should be submitted to the IMI's Data Protection Officer service provider, Evalian, at dpo@evalian.co.uk, or directly to the IMI at GDPR@theimi.org.uk.

Upon receipt of a valid request, the IMI will respond in accordance with the requirements of the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. We may request proof of identity and/or additional information where reasonably required to verify the request and locate the relevant information
